Skill and Tactic Coach Courses - 2009
EGHA is providing two coach courses this season that are skill specific. These are not general coaching courses. These courses are intended to provide coaches with the strategies, key concepts, drills and teaching techniques to get their team to learn specific skills and tactics. The curriculum is based on the New Hockey Alberta coach mentorship program. These courses are open to Head Coaches & Assistant Coaches.
** The first course will focus on the Peewee to Midget Levels and will be instructed by a Hockey Alberta trained instructor. This includes both classroom and on ice instruction.
Sunday, October 4, 2009 - Puck Control & Developing Defense
6:00 pm – 7:00 pm classroom @ Castledowns YMCA
7:15 pm – 9:15 pm on ice @ Castledowns Arena B
Coaches are required to attend both parts of this course and need to bring their skates, gloves, stick & helmet.
** The second course will focus on the Initiation to Pee Wee Levels and will be instructed by “High Tempo Hockey Camps Inc.”. This course will include on ice instruction only, no classroom.
Tuesday, October 6, 2009 – Skating Techniques
8:30 pm – 10:00 pm on ice @ Coronation Arena A
Coaches need to bring their skates, gloves, stick & helmet.

There is only room for 25 EGHA coaches to attend. Sign up as soon as possible so you are not disappointed. Please keep in mind that the cost of these sessions is covered by EGHA and if you register you are expected to attend.
